UPDATE: NorthPark Center still closed through June 4 after downtown protests

NorthPark Center closed early Saturday after violent protests in downtown Dallas and Deep Ellum, according to the Dallas Morning News. As of Thursday, June 4, it is still closed.

NorthPark’s decision to close was done “out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of the Dallas Police Department,” said spokeswoman Kristen Gibbins.

Social media chatter signaled that the malls were going to be targeted by protesters on Saturday. Both Galleria and NorthPark closed and haven’t decided when to reopen.
