Stanford Athletics released the University’s 2020 football roster, which includes former Jesuit standout athlete E.J. Smith. Smith’s bio on the team’s website is full of accolades from his time as a Jesuit Ranger.

While the coronavirus pandemic has set back the whole world of sports this spring, Stanford and the rest of the Pac-12 have discussed what their plans for a fall season might look like. Earlier this week, the NCAA football oversight committee solidified a plan for an extended preseason, Mercury News reported. This plan would allow teams an additional two weeks to hold walk-throughs and help football programs everywhere make up for their lost preparation time.

As for Stanford’s program, the team finished the first two sessions of spring practice. Athletes practiced seven times total and five times in pads, Bruin Report said.

Nothing has been officially announced for Stanford’s fall camp plans, but the talk is that Stanford has contacted their players about a new protocol that would include testing and quarantining in advance of player arrival to campus. If things go as planned, the program  would implement team activities that do not surpass the University’s rules of no more than 50 people per gathering.
