Dallas ISD released a video Wednesday depicting the district’s school re-entry plan.

The video depicts elementary-aged students arriving at school, receiving temperature checks and maintaining social distancing requirements in hallways. It also shows students wearing masks and face shields among other precautions.

This video comes before a Dallas ISD Board of Trustees meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday when members of the board will be physically present. At this meeting, Superintendent Michael Hinojosa will vouch for a moved start date from Aug. 17 to Sept. 8. School would then finish June 18.

Dallas ISD has also released a “Re-entry Playbook for Parents“. The handbook, which is 42 pages, details the measures that will be taken.

“Although there is possibility that exposure may occur upon re-entry into school, all members of the Dallas ISD community should expect that every effort is being made to take appropriate precautions to safeguard the health and well-being of our school family,” according to the handbook.

All date changes and measures are contingent on the progression of COVID-19.
