A healthy Mexican restaurant with vegan menu options is coming to the neighborhood. Toluca Organic, which first opened in Uptown in 2019, will open a second location in Preston Center in August.

The eatery will find its home in the old Lala’s Mexican Café space, Culture Map Dallas reported.

Toluca offers local, organic and gluten-free options. The menu includes tacos, bowls, burritos and salads with lots of room for meal customization.

Owner TJ Frank, co-founder of Southpaws Grill, makes his concept appealing to all types of eaters, from vegans to non-vegans and everyone in between. “The priority with Toluca is incorporating vegan and other dietary options so that when you have a group friends, you ask, ‘Where do you go to dinner?’, Toluca is there for all” he told Culture Map. “Dietary restrictions have become a much bigger deal in our culture.”

In addition to fresh menu options, the location at Preston Center will serve wine, beer and alcohol. Frank plans to offer wine-based cocktails and sangrias.

“We’ve wanted to take this to the next level and offer more options for something that’s healthy and convenient,” Frank told Culture Map. “Especially with the coronavirus and everything that’s going on right now, where being safe and convenient is a top priority.”

Frank also mentioned the restaurant’s plans for to-go food. “We’ve always been pretty good at to-go and it’s a huge deal for us.”

Toluca Organic will open at 6030 Luther Lane.
