On Aug. 21, The Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) approved the cancellation of the 2020 fall athletic season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Just last month, the SPC released a statement postponing fall competition until Sept. 8.

“We recognize we are members of a Conference with a wide variance in local conditions, approaches and opinions regarding how to handle these challenging circumstances as they relate to athletic competition,” the statement on the conference website said.

The SPC has 18 member schools and 4 of the 5 Dallas County members are Preston Hollow Schools: Episcopal School of Dallas, St. Mark’s, Hockaday and Greenhill.

As of now, the SPC continues to plan for the winter and spring sports seasons. “The Operations Committee and SPC Board of Directors will revisit plans for winter and spring seasons at a later date and determine if any adjustments are required as a result of circumstances at that time,” the statement said.
