A Fort Worth favorite is making its way to The Pavilion on Lover’s Lane. J. Rae’s is set to open in the Devonshire neighborhood this coming winter.

J. Rae’s will be run by baker Audrey Dixon, who will be offering her family’s signature cupcakes, cheesecakes, cake balls and cookies.  The original shop opened in 2008 on West Seventh Street in Fort Worth. It was originally owned and run by Dixon’s aunt, Jana Howell. The original shop has since changed ownership, however, when COVID-19 first stuck, Dixon found herself between jobs.

To carry on her family’s recipes and to follow her passion of baking, Dixon decided to finally open a bakery of her own.

“Some of the earliest memories I have of my mom and aunt are of them baking chocolate chip cookies, and it eventually became something we would do together,” said Dixon in a statement. “I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for most of my career but am excited to finally transition from behind the desk to being behind the kitchen counter.”

J. Rae’s will be located at 5600 W Lovers Lane, Suite 143, Dallas. It is expected to open in time for the holidays.
