Santa Claus can still visit during the coronavirus pandemic, but like everything else in 2020, it will be virtual.
The tradition of sitting on Santa’s knee at NorthPark Center will look a bit different this year, along with other aspects of the shopping center’s holiday campaign, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Carl Anderson has portrayed Santa at NorthPark for more than 30 years and will do so again this year online. He’ll be available by reservation, and visits will start at $24.95, the Morning News reported. Proceeds will be donated to Children’s Health.
Scrooge puppet shows performed by Woodrow Wilson graduate Will Schutze will also move online. So will performances by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Opera and Dallas Black Dance, the newspaper reported.
The trains are gearing up for another year benefitting the Ronald McDonald House, and the Salvation Army is bring back its Angel Tree and red kettles.
NorthPark may have had to cancel some events, but its upping the decorations with a new display of trees decorated with origami ornaments, according to the Morning News. Look for old favorites like Santa and his sleigh made from pecans.
