When scouring old yearbooks, people often find embarrassing yet nostalgic images that highlight the horrors of their past. However, what may be embarrassing for some can be a treasure trove for others.

When Paula Bosse got her hands on some images from “The Marksmen,” St. Mark’s yearbook, she found archival work that has since gone on her blog, Flashback Dallas. The images show St. Mark’s in the 1960s. Just off the heels of their 1950 opening, the pictures show the school in the process of massive expansion through aerial views, yearbook spreads and schematics.

Bosse started Flashback Dallas to learn more about Dallas’ history. Through archival work, she publishes photos that give a complete view of the past.

On her site, Bosse says that  the blog is a “collection of things that I find interesting: photos, postcards, important historical events that I’d vaguely heard of, newspaper clippings about forgotten moments from the lives of forgotten people, the history of houses and buildings, vintage ads, things that make me laugh…whatever.”
