Former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush announced late Tuesday night that they will attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

This comes just a day before chaos erupted at Congress’ meeting to formally count the Electoral College.

The Preston Hollow neighbors stated that they  “look forward to returning to the Capitol” through Bush spokesman Freddy Ford. Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, will not be attending the ceremony, however they sent their best wishes to President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris.

George W. Bush was one of the first Texas Republicans to congratulation Biden on his victory, stating, after a call with Biden, that “though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country.”

The inauguration is scheduled for Jan. 20 and will be scaled-down and mostly virtual.
