The Cattle Baron’s Ball is “doubling down against cancer” in 2021. The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is bouncing back with two main events after the gala was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Announced on their Instagram on Jan. 19, the first event is the Cattle Baron’s Ball Golf Tournament, which will take place on May 3 and is chaired by Kristi Bare and Nancy Gopez. The event returns for the first time since 2008, and golfers will tee off at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. The day will feature celebrity players, contests and awards, and at night, participants can enjoy a cocktail reception and an auction.

The second event will be the 48th Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball on Oct. 23 at Gilley’s Dallas. The event will still be chaired by Diana Hamilton and Heather Randall, who were the chairs of the 2020 event. Dierks Bentley, who was set to headline the 2020 gala, is set to return, along with Cole Swindell, who will perform on the VIP Stage.

Last year, the Cattle Baron’s Ball raised $1,413,213 for cancer research after moving completely virtual. Activities included a raffle and silent auction. Many supporters also allowed the organization to keep their ticket funds and donations.

“It was so generous and sweet because they know we need it,” co-chair Diana Hamilton, said to The Preston Hollow Advocate in September. “We really want to make sure every dollar that comes in goes straight to research.”

In the past, the affair has raised more than $85 million and has funded 47 Nobel Peace Prize-winning scientists. The money raised has also assisted more than 40,000 cancer patients.

More information surrounding the two forthcoming events will be available soon, however readers can find more information at www.cattlebaronsball.com.
