Wednesday was the last day a crime was committed in Preston Hollow, according to the Dallas Police Department’s Community Crime Map.

Starting Thursday, there were no crimes in our neighborhood reported to Dallas PD — including burglaries, thefts and vandalism, among others.

Traveling became dangerous as snow had started to pile up across the city by Sunday evening, as all 254 counties in Texas were placed under a winter storm warning. As of 6 a.m. Monday, the National Weather Service had measured 4 inches of snow at DFW Airport.

Dangerous wind chills and temperatures below freezing will continue through Wednesday morning, with another winter storm expected to come Tuesday and last until Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas started rotating power outages early Monday morning. This hasn’t happened since Feb. 2, 2011.
