Preston Hollow neighbor and former President George W. Bush released a statement following the death of Rush Limbaugh, controversial conservative radio host. Limbaugh passed away on Wednesday in Palm Beach, Fla. from complications with lung cancer. He was 70.

“Laura and I are sorry to learn that Rush Limbaugh has passed away,” the statement read. “A son of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Rush rose as a pioneer of talk radio starting in the 1980s, and was a friend throughout my Presidency.”

Bush and former President Donald J. Trump are the only living presidents to release a statement following Limbaugh’s death. The latter awarded Limbaugh with the Medal of Freedom in 2020.
