The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has moved the girls’ state swimming and diving championships to March amid the winter weather, Dallas ISD said in a Tweet.

This is a change from Tuesday’s announcement that the girls meet would take place Feb. 22-23. Now, the meet will be held March 1-2.

Though the schedule has changed for the girls, the boys are still set to compete Feb. 26-27.

Athletes will travel to the Bill Walker Pool and Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio for the meet.

Several Preston Hollow swimmers have qualified or are invited to the championships.

Katherine Yao from Hillcrest High School received will be competing in the 5A girls’ 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke.

Will McKinney from Jesuit Dallas will swim in the 6A boys’ 200 IM.

William Savarese, a first-year student at Jesuit Dallas, is an automatic qualifier in the 6A boys’ 100 breaststroke. Savarese won the 100 breast at regionals this year, the first time since 2006 a first-year student at the school won an individual event at the competition.
