Following a weekend of no crimes reported in Preston Hollow, thefts continued this week amid a winter storm.

These crimes took place as many families in our neighborhood were left without power during the sub-freezing temperatures of the past week. While most businesses closed, some stayed open to provide food and warmth for people who needed it.

Though there was only one offense in our neighborhood, several crimes occurred nearby.

An unknown suspect tried to steal from the 7-Eleven at 11803 Preston Road on Monday. The suspect smashed the glass door, entered the building and tried to rob the ATM.

Thefts at properties just outside our neighborhood were also reported throughout the week.

The Chick-fil-A at 12795 Midway Road was robbed on Monday when an unknown suspect broke into the building and stole from the business.

On Tuesday, the Famous Footwear at 3747 Forest Lane was broken into. A rock was used to break a window, and property was taken.
