There’s finally an opening date for the Central Market on Preston Road and Royal Lane: June 30.

Stephen Butt, the president of the grocery retailer, told the Dallas Morning News the location will be ready for July Fourth shoppers.

The store has been closed since October 2019, when the tornado struck Dallas, and was initially set to reopen this April or May.

Over the past couple years, construction has been ongoing to make repairs and updates. An application for a building permit to add a pergola was filed in January, and when the store is finished, it will have curbside service, seafood and floral departments, a new coffee bar and more seating for customers, who are still asked to wear masks after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott lifted the mandate.

Butt also gave updates on the future Uptown and Oak Cliff locations.

KDC, the developer of the Uptown store, is redesigning the project after the pandemic has changed workplaces and office spaces, which the original plans included. And Central Market is still searching for a developer to take on the project at the Bishop Arts property.

The Central Market in Preston Hollow is located at 10720 Preston Road.Â
