Holocaust survivor Max Glauben paired up with a graduate of Yavneh Academy of Dallas to write a book about Glauben’s life, WFAA reported.

Jori Epstein met Glauben when she was a teenager on a trip to Poland on the March of the Living, an annual commemoration of the Holocaust. But it wasn’t until after Epstein graduated from the University of Texas that she and Glauben began working on the book.

The Upstander: How Surviving the Holocaust Sparked Max Glauben’s Mission to Dismantle Hate,” which was published in March, recounts Glauben’s story, including his early life as a child, the only member of his family to survive the Holocaust, his teenage years and his immigration to America, and his ability to let go of hatred.

The publication of the book came shortly before Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, which started the evening of April 7. President Joseph Biden proclaimed April 4-11, 2021, a week of observance of the Days of Remembrance of Victims of the Holocaust.
