A stunning Preston Hollow garden will be on display this weekend at the North Texas Water Garden Society’s 30th pond tour.

The Myerwood Lane pond is the perfect spot for animals, real and stone alike. It is stocked with koi and surrounded by statues of blue herons and other critters.

The two-day, self-guided tour consists of 36 Dallas ponds, which are available to view Saturday and Sunday. The tour also features several ponds open until 11 p.m. for an enchanted night tour.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to get ideas for your garden and/or pond if you have one or inspiration to build your own pond if you have been considering it,” said Kimberly Atchley, secretary and treasurer of the North Texas Water Garden Society. “The pond owners are always glad to share their experiences both good and bad to help other gardeners.”

Descriptions, directions and pictures of each pond are listed in a $20 tour book. The books can be purchased until June 13 at North Haven Gardens, Jacksons Home and Garden and Chesshir Stone. Visitors need one book per car.

The North Texas Water Garden Society is a nonprofit that organizes the annual tour of ponds to support its education fund. The society maintains the lily pond at Texas Discovery Gardens and the stream at the Dallas Zoo.
