A Jesuit alum from the class of 2016 played in his first MLB game this week.

Kyle Muller was called up from the Gwinett Stripers, a Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The left-handed pitcher had one at bat in the game against the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox defeated the Braves 10-8 on Wednesday night.

The Braves placed pitcher Tucker Davidson on the 10-day injured list with forearm inflammation in his left arm.

At Jesuit, Muller helped lead the Rangers to the team’s first UIL state championship in 2016.

Muller left the Triple-A East Division ranked seventh with 41 strikeouts. His time in the minor league began in 2016 and lasted until 2021. He was the 2016 Gatorade National Player of the Year and racked up 377 strikeouts.
