Preston Hollow neighbors Luka Doncic and J.J. Barea will return to the court this week as their national teams play for a spot at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Doncic will represent Slovenia, and Barea will represent Puerto Rico in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.

If their teams finish first or second in the six-team pool, they will advance to a semifinal. The semifinal winner will play in the championship, with the winner going to Tokyo.

Slovenia’s first game against Angola is 8:30 a.m. June 30. The second game versus Poland is 8:20 a.m. July 1.

The semifinal is 8:20 a.m. or 11:20 a.m. July 3. The championship is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. July 4.

Games will be played in Kaunas, Lithuania. Other teams include Korea, Lithuania and Venezuela.

J.J. Barea

Puerto Rico’s first matchup versus Senegal is 9:50 a.m. June 29. The second game versus Italy is 9:50 a.m. July 1.

The semifinal is 9:50 a.m. or 12:50 p.m. July 3. The championship is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. July 4.

Games will be played in Belgrade, Serbia. Other teams include Serbia, the Dominican Republic and the Philippines.

All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
