When Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani tied the knot Saturday, they celebrated with the cake of their dreams from a Preston Hollow baker.
The singers called on Lauren Kitchens, owner of Fancy Cakes by Lauren, to create a five-tier cake inspired by the cake Stefani’s parents ate at their wedding.
“This wasn’t just a wedding cake we made for two superstars,” Kitchens said on Instagram. “Our bride wanted to make a sentimental statement by recreating her parents’ wedding cake. Both of Gwen’s parents were there to see her honor them with this cake.”
The Lambeth-designed cake featured layers of royal icing hand piped into rows of garland to give the impression of depth. It was decorated with tiny sugar flowers, white chocolate cherubs and lace bells. Swan pillars separated two tiers. It sat on a bed of ruffled lace and was topped with a bride and her cowboy.
“This style of cake has become a lost art,” Kitchens said. “It’s slowing making a comeback in weddings, and I’m sure Gwen and Blake have just pushed Lambeth right back into demand with their five-tier beauty.”
