Attendance contest winners at Nathan Adams Elementary took home new bikes thanks to two Preston Hollow neighbors.

When Principal Adrian Luna wanted to incentivize attendance during the pandemic, he contacted Billy and Cally Taylor, who have partnered with the school for the past two years. The couple offered to provide bikes for the winners and helped the school achieve a record-breaking attendance of 98.4%.

The Taylors are United to Learn school liaisons who develop relationships with campus leadership. They can fulfill needs, advocate for students and brainstorm ideas.

In addition to providing bikes, the couple has supported Nathan Adams by organizing teacher appreciation events and supplying a mobile smoker for a Community Campus Day cookout and a year-end staff party.

“They have been an amazing pair and have had a major impact on the school,” Luna said. “They hold a special place in my heart. It’s also been a privilege to partner with United to Learn. I can’t even begin to express how amazing you all are. Always selflessly working to bring hope and resources to underserved communities.”
