The Five Hammering Men statue inside NorthPark Center has been damaged and removed temporarily.

Jonathan Boroskfy’s work, which was located in the south court near Louis Vuitton, stands over 14 feet tall and was created in 1982. NorthPark wasn’t more specific than saying the work was “unfortunately damaged” but noted it is being repaired.

“This piece is a beloved part of the collection of artworks on view at NorthPark Center, where we are committed to providing a world-class art experience to our visitors,” NorthPark said in a statement.

Another of Boroskfy’s statues, the 40-foot tall Hammering Man outside Neiman Marcus near Boedecker Street, remains. Its face is based on the profile of the artist, who signs his works not with a signature but with a number. On Hammering Man, it’s found on the statue’s foot.

Five Hammering Men should be reinstalled when repairs are completed.

In the meantime, neighbors can see another attraction at the shopping center. Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses is ongoing, and the Dallas Mavericks mascots, Champ and Mavs Man, will be visiting July 23.
