Neighbor Victor Vescovo was invited to a special event in Spain recently.
The St. Mark’s School of Texas alumnus, who also served in the U.S. Navy, joined Spanish diver Hector Salvador in San Fernando. They were invited to add water from the Mariana Trench, the deepest point in the ocean, to the Pantheon of Illustrious Sailors. It’s a mausoleum and memorial to all the mariners of the Spanish Navy.
Salvador has dived deeper than any other Spaniard.
Last month, Vescovo took to the skies in a Zero-G flight with fellow St. Mark’s graduate Alan Stern.
I was honored to attend a special event in Cadiz, Spain by the Spanish Navy. Hector Salvador (deepest diving Spaniard ever) and I were invited to add water from the bottom of the Mariana Trench to a pool in a mausoleum honoring Spain's fallen sailors. https://t.co/7YRZIjDQzQ
