Students from The Hockaday School and Dallas ISD schools were named as finalists in this year’s DART Student Art Contest.
The contest was open to all students in North Texas in kindergarten-12th grade. Participants were asked to illustrate this year’s theme: “Everyday heroes ride DART.” It honors frontline workers, who helped the community through COVID-19.
Winners were split into categories based on grade level: kindergarten through second grade, third through fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade and ninth through 12th grade.
“Seeing the passion and creativity that our young artists bring to the DART Student Art Program will remain one of my most vivid memories,” said David Leininger, the interim president and CEO of DART. “Each year seems to bring new skills and imagination from the young people across our region. I am honored that we can play a small role in these promising artists’ development.”
