Dallas ISD is offering free home internet for students this year.

The move is meant to help support student learning at home.

Families are asked to apply for internet access on this website by Aug. 31.

Service will last through the 2021-22 school year and during summer instruction. Multiple people in each household can use the same connection at the same time.

The district expects it will take about one or two weeks after applications are received to review them. Then, AT&T or Spectrum will contact families to schedule a time to install the router.

All equipment will be returned to DISD when the school year is over or upon DISD notification.

DISD has not received funding for virtual learning, so all students are attending classes on campus this year. In response to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in Dallas, the district is requiring face masks to be worn.
