A new exhibition at NorthPark Center is showcasing artwork by 20 regional and national artists as part of a Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center event.

The pieces were donated by the artists and will be auctioned off at the nonprofit’s Art for Advocacy fundraiser Sept. 25. Artwork included in the exhibition represents only a fraction of the work by nearly 75 artists who have donated to the auction.

Featured artists in the NorthPark showcase, called “Be Bold. Be Bright. Be Brave.” are: William Atkinson, Brandon Boys, Sedrick Huckaby, Carmen Menza, Mary Vernon, Cassandra Black, Linda Blackburn, Dennis Blagg, Megan Brooks, Natalie Christensen, Camilla Cowan, Maxine Helfman, Leslie Lanzotti, Treg Miller, Favio Moreno, Pamela Nelson, Abi Salami, Allison V. Smith, Keer Tanchak and Reinhard Ziegler.

Atkinson teaches humanities and coaches football and wrestling at St. Mark’s School of Texas. Smith attended The Hockaday School and the Episcopal School of Dallas. She’s also the granddaughter of Neiman Marcus co-founder Stanley Marcus.

Each year, the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center serves more than 8,000 people who have been affected by child abuse. The NorthPark exhibition has been held annually, excluding 2020, since 2018. In 2019, the exhibition was titled “Resiliency.” The annual Art for Advocacy event began in 2006, though it was not held last year. Since the event began, more than $1 million has been raised for the nonprofit and its clients.

The exhibition is located on level one between Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s. It is open until Sept. 22.
