Jason Baldwin.

A former teacher at The Hockaday School pleaded guilty to buying child pornography online.

Jason Sherod Baldwin pleaded guilty Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported. The charge is one federal count of receipt of child pornography.

Baldwin was first arrested in late July 2020, after admitting to federal investigators that he paid for lewd videos of underage boys engaging in sexual acts.

A lawsuit filed in November 2020 alleged Baldwin broke a 3-year-old girl’s arm on the playground and retaliated after the girl told her mother. It also alleged that Hockaday dismissed mother and former employee Trace Walder when she reported the abuse.

At the time, Hockaday said in a statement it “takes very seriously any allegation of harm to a child” but that the lawsuit “contains misstatements and accusations that have already been investigated and found unsubstantiated, by government agencies and in Hockaday’s investigation processes.” Hockaday denied the allegations against the school.

Baldwin’s sentencing date has not been scheduled, but he faces five to 20 years in federal prison.
