Core Pilates Dallas is looking to reopen its Preston Royal Southwest location soon.

Owner and founder Marilyn Levitt said she’s just waiting for the certificate of occupancy request and building to be approved.

When the tornado struck our neighborhood in 2019, much of the shopping center, including Core Pilates Dallas, was damaged. Levitt moved her studio to a temporary location off Westchester Drive in Preston Center, and many of the studio’s clients went with her.

She said she expects the location will reopen by the end of the year. The studio will be located in the same spot, suite 260, but it will be a little larger. It has new walls and flooring, and all of the equipment will be back in place.

Levitt plans to close the Preston Center location when the Preston Royal Southwest spot opens. The Royal Lane location is closer to where Levitt and many of her clients live, anyway.

“Preston Royal, for me, is an ideal location. It’s where the majority of our clients live around that area,” Levitt said. “Occasionally, you get somebody driving in, but for the most part, we’re really a neighborhood kind of studio.”

Many of the instructors at Core Pilates Dallas are also physical therapists. Core Pilates Dallas isn’t the type of place that focuses on offering classes and running through exercises. It focuses on helping neighbors understand how their bodies move, how they can increase their stability and work on rehabilitation.
