The Dallas Mavericks have a new requirement for fans who want to attend games at the American Airlines Center: show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.

All fans have to wear masks when not actively eating or drinking in assigned seats, regardless of vaccination status.

Mark Cuban responded to the requirement in an email to the Dallas Morning News.

“An easy decision,” he wrote. “While there will always be uncertainty about what is the best approach to dealing with Covid, all we can do is evaluate the information we have available to us. Every bit of that information says that the vaccine protects the people around you by reducing the chances of the recipient catching covid, and if you don’t have it, you [can’t] spread it.”

Kids under 12 who are more than 15 feet from the court are exempted from entry requirements.
