A part of Northaven Road is now closed.

The section of the road between Park Central and North Central Expressway is expected to be closed for about a month while construction crews work on the bridge.

See the map below to see alternative routes to avoid the closure.

The bridge will eventually allow the Northaven Trail to cross the highway and connect to bike- and pedestrian-friendly trails on the east side.

See how progress on the trail is going in a recent video here.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in May, following the Texas Department of Transportation’s approval of the plan.

The expansion is estimated to cost $9.3 million and expected to be completed spring 2023.

This is one of several projects occurring on trails throughout Dallas. The Circuit Trail Conservancy recently broke ground on the Trinity Forest Spine Trail as part of The Loop. When it’s finished, it will connect many neighborhoods across Dallas with walkable trails and green space.
