A Preston Hollow home displaying features of a Dilbeck-designed property is on the market for about $1.5 million.

The home, built in 1940 and located at 6306 Northwood Road, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

It wasn’t designed by Charles Dilbeck, but it has elements the notable architect often included in his projects. Some of the most obvious are the large fireplaces. There’s one in the den, one in the formal living room and one in the dining room.

The 3,143-square-foot home sits on a 0.4 acre lot. It has a backyard patio and modern finishings, including a built-in wine cooler.

Dilbeck was originally from Arkansas and moved to Dallas in 1933. He worked with architect George Marble for about six months before working independently. Dilbeck didn’t have formal architectural training, which made his work “more picturesque, more idiosyncratic,” Willis Winters, an expert on Dilbeck, told The Advocate years ago.

Many examples of Dilbeck’s homes can be found in Lakewood and Preston Hollow.
