Galleria Dallas is commemorating Hanukkah with the lighting of a menorah.

The first candle will be lit 5 p.m. Nov. 28, the first night of the Jewish holiday.

At the event, Mark Zilbermann, the board chair of the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, will offer some remarks before he lights the candle.

Jarams Donuts will provide some free sufganiyot, donuts filled with jelly. There will also be other treats available.

The menorah is located on level one near Tiffany & Co., and a candle will be lit every night of the eight-night holiday.

Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem during the Maccabean Revolt. Jews light a candle each night to reflect the oil that burned for eight days in the Temple.

The Galleria is also hosting activities for other holidays this year. There will be photo opportunities with Santa, and the Turtle Creek Chorale will be performing holiday songs.
