Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was recently inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame.

Cuban, who lives in Preston Hollow, was inducted Oct. 28, along with five other Texans, including two from Dallas: Morton H. Meyerson and Randall L. Stephenson.

As a kid, Cuban was selling garbage bags and baseball cards. But one of his most lucrative business dealings came years later, when he and longtime friend Todd Wagner came up with Broadcast.com, or Audionet, as a way to stream audio online. They sold it to Yahoo for $5.6 billion.

In one of his more recent ventures, Cuban put his name on a prescription drug company, the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company.

This year, Forbes listed Cuban among the top 400 richest Americans.
