Dallas ISD Trustee Edwin Flores is a candidate for Dallas County Judge.

Flores, who represents District 1 on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, filed a form appointing Orlando Salazar a campaign treasurer.

The Advocate reached out to Flores, who has not responded to comment.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins announced in November he would seek a fourth term.

Flores is the managing partner and founder of Chalker Flores LLP, an intellectual property law firm. He has also served as an assistant district attorney in Dallas County.

His tenure as a DISD trustee began in May 2005, where he represented District 1 until 2012. Flores sat out a term and then was re-elected in 2015.

“Dr. Flores has also served on numerous community boards, including, KIPP-DFW charter school board, International Leadership of Texas Charter School board, Teach for America Dallas-Fort Worth board, The Tower Center board, the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center board, the Boy Scouts Circle 10 Council, the Dallas Assembly, Medical City Hospital Dallas community board, the Texas Leadership Forum board, and the Licensing Executives Society board, SMU Tate Lecture Series, Good Shepherd Episcopal School, the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Historical Society, and the Southwestern Medical Foundation.

From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Flores was appointed to the Advisory Council of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Flores was also appointed to the prestigious Council of Councils of the NIH.”
