Pets Alive!, as the name suggests, is on a mission to keep pets alive. The neighborhood foundation focuses on rescuing healthy and treatable pets at the greatest risk of being euthanized. They work to reduce owner surrender through a Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender program, and they transport animals to partner organizations in other cities in need of adoptable animals in order to make more room for Dallas dogs.

This week the org announced a partnership with Texas musician Miranda Lambert (while not from Dallas per se, Miranda’s parents reportedly met at SMU) and The Bandwagon Tour, for which the singer is joined by Little Big Town and special guests The Cadillac Three.

The performers — set to take the stage May 7 at the State Fair’s Dos Equis Pavilion — and DPA are promoting the fostering and saving of local homeless pets. The collaborative will give away two tickets to a pet foster.

“DPA is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue organization that does not occupy a shelter, so we rely on our fosters to open their homes and hearts to our North Texas community’s homeless pets,” says Leslie Sans, founder of Dallas Pets Alive! “At a time where the local animal shelters are at capacity, we are in critical need of new fosters to help save these animals from potential euthanization. We are excited to join Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and the entire Bandwagon Tour to help incentivize people to sign up to become a foster and save a life!”
