Plans for a new rest stop are underway on the Northaven Trail at Welch Road.
The Friends of Northaven Trail report that this “respite” is ready for City of Dallas engineering to get the ball rolling on construction.
The group recently secured a donor for a water fountain. Girl Scouts are providing amenities, including plants and design. And Oncor has provided its required reports.
Two other respites on the trail opened recently. One is at Preston Road and was built in cooperation with Northaven United Methodist Church.
The other is out west of Webb Chapel Road, at Pensive Drive.
