Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge has closed its location in our neighborhood.

The restaurant at the intersection of Hillcrest Road and Northwest Highway is “closed indefinitely,” a staff member at the Uptown location told The Advocate, because the store didn’t have enough revenue to remain open.

Primo’s, which opened in 2020 in suite 100 at 8611 Hillcrest Road, also removed the location from its website. It is managed by Refined Hospitality Concepts, which also owns Bourbon & Banter, Overeasy, Scout and Sfereco.

In addition to Uptown, Primo’s has a restaurant Downtown and one in Flower Mound.

Its Preston Hollow restaurant opened in the place of Dish, which closed in 2018 after three years in business. Tim McEneny, Dish’s owner, cited “unresolvable concerns with our building and location” as the reason for its closure.

Before Dish, a restaurant called Soleo Mexican Kitchen was the tenant. It closed after about a year serving neighbors.
