Construction is expected to begin this month on Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Station No. 41.
The “Preston/Royal Fire Department” was demolished two years ago, following the October 2019 tornado that ripped through North Dallas.
A temporary fire station nearby had been expected to open last summer, but it’s now expected to be complete in May.
According to a memo sent to City Council this week: “Due to inclement weather conditions, there was delay to project startup. The contractor is currently working on installing silt fencing, addressing underground utilities, and site grading work.”
The new Station 41 at 5920 Royal Lane could be completed as soon as February 2023.
