The NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament kicks off this week, and a couple of our former neighbors are participating.

Both athletes attended Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas.

Michael Jankovich, a junior guard at the University of Kansas, played three years at Jesuit before graduating from a school in Massachusetts. Jankovich is the son of SMU head coach Tim Jankovich.

Kansas, a No. 1 seed team, is scheduled to play the winner of the Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi versus Texas Southern University game. The Kansas game is set for March 17.

Julius Marble II is a junior at Michigan State. This is Michigan State’s 24th consecutive NCAA tournament.

Michigan State will play Davidson on March 18.

Marble and Jankovich made appearances in last year’s March Madness tournament.

Three current Jesuit students on the basketball team were named to the All-District 7-6A teams. Seniors Ben Johnson and Ryan McCormick were placed on the all-district first team, and senior Sky Tschurr was named to the all-district second team.
