LDU Coffee, a local coffee chain, plans to open a location in Preston Hollow.

The shop, founded by brothers and Australian natives Adam and Mark Lowes, offers “a cheeky Australian take” on the Italian neighborhood espresso bar. Its first location opened on Fitzhugh Avenue in 2017. That was followed by a store on Preston Road near Lovers Lane in 2019, and the third opened on Garland Road near the Dallas Arboretum in 2021.

A representative for the company filed an application for a certificate of occupancy at 10720 Preston Road, and Adam confirmed the plans in an email to The Advocate. According to DCAD records, the suite where LDU plans to open used to house Celebrity Cafe & Bakery.

He said he didn’t know when the store would open, but he’s hoping for sometime toward the end of summer.

At LDU, neighbors will find a range of coffee drinks including cappuccinos, lattes, mocha lattes, flat whites and more. According to the company’s website, LDU’s product is “faster, bolder, heavier in texture, more flavorsome and more consistent” than others.

For the coffee-averse, there are several flavors of teas, like green, mint, black and lemongrass ginger. For food, offerings include sandwiches and pastries.

The shops have indoor seating, but don’t plan on logging on to any webinars from there — LDU doesn’t offer Wi-Fi for guests.
