The Nowitzkis are the chairs of the Perot Museum’s 10th anniversary.

“We are incredibly honored to chair the Perot Museum’s 10th Anniversary celebration,” Jessica and Dirk said. “The museum has become such a cherished part of Dallas and one of our family’s favorite destinations. We’re thrilled to help commemorate a decade of inspiring young minds, and we’re even more excited about the next chapter as the Perot Museum expands its community outreach to inspire a new generation toward a lifelong love of science.”

According to the museum’s website, there are two events in November and December planned to celebrate 10 years of the museum.

But our neighbors have already been a part of the anniversary.

They joined students of Sarah Zumwalt Middle School to engage with the museum’s TECH Truck, which is one way the museum is doing community engagement.

The TECH (thinker, engineer, create, hack) trucks take the museum to the community and allow young people to participate in hands-on STEM activities.

“With the TECH Truck specifically, they can go in the neighborhoods and show them these resources and its innovative programs,” Dirk Nowitzki said. “Anything is possible. You can do anything with dreams and hard work and with the right resources.”

The students made their own shoes and a catapult.
