A locally owned boutique recently signed a one-year lease at Galleria Dallas.

Flea Style, a retailer that grew out of pop-up markets, is opening an outpost at the mall.

This will be Flea Style’s fourth location, after Deep Ellum, Frisco and Fort Worth.

Owner Brittany Cobb lives in Highland Park, and a mall is an unusual move for the company, she told the Dallas Morning News.

“I’m not a big mall shopper. I’m always looking for real estate with a story,” she told the newspaper. “What I liked about the Galleria is that they are bringing local boutiques into the mall and they’re looking for experiential retail.”

Flea Style is known for its “hat bar,” where shoppers can have their hats customized on the spot. The hat bar also travels for “hat parties” that corporations and individuals hire.

The Galleria location, in the former Thomas Pink on the first level, will have a hat bar, and it’s where Cobb is launching a new concept to her brand, customized vintage boots.

The Galleria has been making an effort to recruit local retailers, and there are now eight, including Gregory’s and Lizzie Lu Luxury Treats, the newspaper reported.
