Preston Hollow-based pet rescue operation Dallas Pets Alive! announced a partnership with GoodCharlie, “a new breed of energy provider,” according to a press release. GoodCharlie will donate a percentage of profits to the nonprofit rescuers and treatment to animals in need for every customer referral.

Plus, to kick off GoodCharlie’s launch, it is conducting a free energy sweepstakes open through Saturday at 11:59 p.m. CST for Texas residents in deregulated energy markets.

The winner of the sweepstakes will receive free electricity for a year. Two runners up will win a professional dog portrait and a twelve-month supply of dog treat boxes. The energy company will announce the sweepstakes winner Sunday May 14 via Instagram and Facebook Live @mygoodcharlie. “We are thrilled to partner with an energy company whose mission truly resonates with every pet owner and animal lover,” says Leslie Sans, executive director of DPA! “We never imagined that something as simple as choosing your electricity provider could mean a lifesaving treatment gets put in the paws of our community’s most vulnerable companion animals.”

In addition to its rescue-focused charitable efforts to help find homeless dogs loving forever homes, the residential electricity provider takes care of its customer’s pets by providing completely free 24/7 virtual/video access to licensed veterinarians as well as a $1,000 fund for an emergency vet bill.

“50,000-100,000 animals are euthanized in Texas every year–more than any other state in the US. This has to stop, and we as a community can change this,” said Daryl Lawrence, Co-Founder & CMO of GoodCharlie. “At GoodCharlie, we put our energy into caring for dogs, and together we can make a real difference. Our partnership with Dallas Pets Alive! means we can directly save animals most at risk, and we look forward to saving lives together.”

Dallas Pets Alive! is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue that promotes and provides the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals in North Texas.
