Dallas Fire Rescue’s temporary Fire Station No. 41 opened recently, after a year delay and three years after a tornado destroyed the old one.

The temporary fire station on Royal Lane opened Aug. 31, replacing the bygone “Preston/Royal fire station.”

Dallas City Council this week authorized a $6.1-million contract to build a permanent fire station at 5920 Royal Lane.

Until then, temporary No. 41 still has a few items on its Amazon wish list.
