Equity in affordable housing is the topic of upcoming community meetings with the City of Dallas.

The city’s 2018 comprehensive housing plan failed to address racist housing policies, according to a December 2021 audit.

The audit made 11 recommendations for the city’s housing plan.

“A framework of accountability will establish goals, measure progress, and ensure transparency in the development of housing in our city,” a flyer for the community meetings states.

“Your input is essential in informing and delivering housing equity in all 14 of our city council districts.”

A a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, is at the Walnut Hill Recreation Center, and a virtual meeting is at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

Meetings in Lake Highlands, South Dallas and North Dallas are also planned. See the flyer below for more details.
