This year’s Highlander Concert Series at Highland Park Presbyterian Church is underway, with performances from the church’s choir and orchestra and guest performances from around the globe.

The next performance is November 4 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary with a performance from Vincent Dubois, France’s leading organist known as the Titular Organist of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral.

“We are fortunate to have such a wonderful instrument at Highland Park Presbyterian Church
where we can contribute to the cultural life of our city and host one of the world’s leading
performers,” said Greg Hobbs, director of music at Highland Park Presbyterian. “Everyone is invited to share in this experience of great artistry with us.”

Highland Park Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir & Orchestra is kicking off the holiday season with a Christmas Celebration concert on December 2 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary with a collection of traditional favorites and the Texas premier of Terre Johnson’s “Magnificat.”

Later, the Highland Park Chorale & Orchestra will perform George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” on December 10 at 7 p.m.

The season will take a break for the holidays and return on March 11 with a performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at 3 p.m. in the Moody Performance Hall. Later, the choir and orchestra will perform Michael John Trotta’s “Seven Last Words” on April 6 at 7 p.m. in preparation for Easter.

On their 50th Anniversary Tour, The Tallis Scholars are stopping by the concert series featuring music from the Renaissance and repertoires of Western Classical music. The performance will be April 16 at 7 p.m.

The season finale will feature Ignor Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” and  Johannes Brahms’ “Ein Deutsches Requiem” on June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Meyerson Symphony Center.
