Thomas Jefferson High School received a new and improved athletic training clinic with help from Henry Schein Medical and the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS).

The school campus recently reopened after damages caused by the 2019 tornado. In a video released by Henry Schein Medical, several TJHS staff share how they overcame the impacts of the tornado with the help of sports and the community, according to the press release.

Henry Schein Medical and PFATS donated essential athletic training supplies and modalities, including compression devices and muscle massagers, to help furnish the school with the proper equipment needed to provide care for athletes.

The company also helped design the clinic, procure furniture and exercise equipment and set up the facility.

“Athletic trainers play a vital role for the entire student body, and they are essential for every team and school. We are pleased to have partnered with PFATS and Greg Gaither to ensure Thomas Jefferson High School has what they need both on and off the field,” said Eric Kearns, National Sales Director, Henry Schein Medical’s Athletics and Schools business.

Last year’s  Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year award recipient also contributed toward the updated clinic. The recipient, Dallas Cowboys Assistant Athletic Trainer Greg Gaither, wanted to give back to his school as part of the rebuilding efforts.

“As a graduate of Thomas Jefferson, I have a special place in my heart for the school, and after the tornado devastated the school and athletic facilities, I wanted to do my part to give back,” Gaither said.

Henry Schein Medical’s supplier partners CanDo®, Essity, Milliken, Mueller Sports Medicine, and The Athletic Edge also helped contribute products for the new training clinic.
