On May 20, the Friends of Northaven Trail (FNT) will get to work planting four new gardens on the west side of the Pensive Drive Trailhead.

FNT will partner with the Texas Conservation Alliance in creating new gardens comprised of native annual and perennial flowering plants, according to an FNT newsletter.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring sunscreen, gardening gloves, a drink and a shovel if possible. Planting will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude around noon. Volunteer sign-ups can be found on the organization’s website.

Regardless of if community members are available to help with planting, they can still meet at the Pensive Drive Trailhead at 11 a.m. for free ice cream from Howdy Homemade Ice Cream.
