Chído Taco Lounge, a popular Frisco eatery, is set to open its second location in Preston Hollow Village this Friday.

The grand opening Dallas location will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24, at Preston Hollow Village. The news was first shared earlier this year. In 2021, owner Blain McGowan brought Chído to Frisco, promising a vibrant interpretation of cultural cuisines in an unpretentious setting. Chído, meaning “cool” in Spanish, quickly became known for its street tacos, cervezas and tequilas.

“After building up a loyal customer base in Frisco, we’re excited to expand our operation into Dallas and to share our concept with a new community of guests,” said Blaine McGowan, Chído Taco Lounge owner. “We consider this new location like Chído 2.0, where our larger space will allow us to fully realize our love for agave spirits and give them the attention and spotlight they deserve.”

Menu favorites from the Frisco location, such as tablitas, birria ramen, bang bang shrimp tacos, jerk chicken, the Chído burger, and a featured taco of the month, will be available at the new Dallas spot. The bar will continue to offer cold beers and fresh margaritas to complement the food.

A second-floor members-only lounge will be a Dallas exclusive, stocked with additive-free tequilas, mezcals and other Mexican spirits. Members will also have private lockers for their favorite bottles, and later, Chído plans to host exclusive tasting events.

Chído is taking over the space previously occupied by Cinco TacoBar, which opened in 2017 and closed last year.
