The new board of directors for Preston Hollow-based nonprofit Junior League of Dallas (JLD) for the 2024–2025 year was recently installed.

The board of directors is dedicated to advancing women’s leadership for significant community impact as they begin their 2024–2025 term, according to a recent news release. They hope to accomplish this through proactive engagement and training of the League’s trained volunteers, as well as through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

“As President, I’m honored to lead us forward and invite every member to join us in shaping a brighter future for our community,” JLD President Tandra Allen said. “Thank you for your dedication. Here’s to a trailblazing year ahead!”

The Junior League of Dallas develops female leaders who work together to address the pressing issues facing the community. Established in 1922, JLD is the oldest and biggest training organization for women in Dallas, and one of the biggest Junior Leagues globally. The ages of the active members range from 22 to 49, with 85% of the women working outside the home. More than 4,000 women are given leadership chances by the JLD annually through more than 17,000 hours of combined formal and experiential training. Being exclusively member-run, JLD gives local NGOs over $1 million in financing annually in addition to about 100,000 volunteer hours.

“As we enter our 103rd year, the Junior League of Dallas is committed to being the premier training organization for women, enriching our city’s quality of life,” Allen said. “Under the theme ‘Trailblaze,’ we aim to build on our legacy, nurture new leaders, and accelerate our journey through strategic initiatives like fast-tracking leadership training, fostering membership growth, and broadening diversity and inclusion.”
